hey family,
this week was full of crazy stuff going on, one of the busiest weeks of my life! I thought conference was going to be a slight break... lets start with the questions
ok sooo we got to see most of conference, we were running back and forth trying to bring investigators to the chapel between every session. It was really stressful and tiring. and time after time, people kept failing us. most of them were firm plans, I still dont know what happened... oh well, the people have their agency. and we cant force this goodness on them. it really is hard though to see people straight up reject what would make their lives better in every aspect if they would just come and try it out. Especially with that awesome chance we had to hear the prophet and apostles speak.
one of the talks I liked especially was president uchtorf about knowin the what and why of the gospel. knowing what we do and more importantly why. we can do all the good things on the outside, all the physical motions but we have to understand why we do them, improve our concept of diety, and draw nearer unto christ. we are here to help people understand the why of the gospel.
The two themes I saw most in the conference was first, the FAMILY
the family really is the most important thing that we have, the most important thing we have. The gospel blesses families in sooo many ways, I am so thankful to have such a good family, I seriously can´t even tell you all how much I love you and have grown to appreciate you even more. You never know how much you love something and how much you take it for granted until your half a world away. but the more I learn and the more I see how much the gospel blesses families, the happier it makes me!
the other theme I saw which is closeley related was forgiveness. the power and ability that we have to be forgiven no matter how bad things get, we can always come back and it is ALWAYS worth it. I loved the conference, unfortunately I couldnt make it to hear Jeffrey R Holland´s talk because the freaking collectivo didnt come for over 30 minutes. haha oh well, i´ll read it in a couple months.
Sorry i dont have a bunch of time to answer all of your questions, please be patient with me, if you still have questinos and comments, i will bring my conference notes next time i write and give better and more details. I love you all sooo much and am soo thankful for this restored gospel, the plan of salvation and happiness, and for all the other blessings I have. I hope that all is well with all of you. All is well here, we are working hard, i´m tired but I feel good inside. my comp and i work great together, he is from the north of peru, a city called piura, which i think might be in chris connelly´s mission. that´d be cool if you could check on that for me. I also sent him a letter, could you let me know if he got that? I dont speak english anymore, its soooo weird, haha my poor brain... sorry this letter isnt all you hoped for... :/
