Hey family,

this was a pretty good week, but also kindof a bummer.  We have been working harder than i´ve ever worked, but still not quite seeing the results.  We couldnt quite make our goal of lessons with member for the week, and pretty much none of our investigators showed up to church.  so that is always rough... pero seguimos luchando... My comp is awesome though, he doesnt speak english, so I havent spoken english in a long time, which is weird to think about.  I also found out that its kinda hard to teach english to someone that seriously doesnt know it... but its cool, my spanish is getting better.  my brain is all confused though, sometimes it has english relapses and stuff, but thats what happens when you quit cold turkey like that...

anyways this week, we found a few good people, but Im stilll not sure if they are going to progress or not but thats where the faith comes in. We were teaching an old lady named amalia and she got sick and couldnt talk to us anymore, but we passed by and her daughter came out and told us that we should stop passing by for a while, so that was a bummer, but then we started talking to her, and at first she was just trying to get rid of us but then she opened up, turns out that she had been into drugs and all that and her life was just in the pits, it got to the point where she tried to kill herself, but she failed, and realized that she wanted to change.  she went to a few churches to see if it was god that she was missing, but she didnt really like any of them.  so as she listened to us she got really excited about coming to church, but then sunday she didnt show, so we went to look for her and turns out she is sick now too... also Blanca our other investigator got sick, and yeah, we had such good plans to get like 7 people to church, but Satan is workin hard... so yeah we had 1 in church which is good but its not 7... ouch...

Its also nuts how many inactives there are in this ward.  we are starting to work with them too.
anyways, I am super excited for general conference this weekend!  I hope you guys will just nut up and take one weekend out of your busy lives to hear the prophets and apostles speak.  actually listen.  I know its pretty hypocritical because i never realized how awesome conference is.  but also take notes.
thats all the time i have, i love you all and hope you have a good week!

i hope to have awesome stories next week for you!
pray for the people of ituzaingo!
also pray always.  as a family!
Love Elder Skousen
