Did you guys not hear about the storm that destroyed buenos aires?
(See the storm update from Josh's mission president here)

the car got smashed with a guy in it
the park used to be pretty

the people lining up at the prison trying to get water.  (before the riots started)

So this Easter was a little different than the usual, I spent most of the day helping people, fixing roofs, taking water to people etc... And from what i´ve been able to tell from your letters is that the news didnt quite reach the northern hemisphere.  I´ll fill you in.  On Wednesday, a storm hit, but it was a little bit bigger than what anyone thought it would be.  My comp and I were walking and it was looking really dark outside, it then got really silent for a couple minutes, kinda weird but we didnt think anything of it.  but then, suddenly just like in the movies the wind picked up hard, I literally saw a wall of water come and in 2 seconds I was drenched and sprinting for cover.  plants, trees, and everything, entire roofs, flying through the streets.  my comp and I were running through in the midst of falling trees, and flying debris and made it to the pench.  It was the most intense 15 minutes of my life.  we got to the pench and the window and been blown in and there was water everywhere, it was dark and we couldnt see anything! (the power was out)  unfortunately pretty much all of my stuff got wet, scriptures, journals, etc.  It was really hard to stop the river of water from coming in from under the doors.

the next morning i couldn´t believe all the destruction.  about half of the power lines had been blown over along with about half the trees and half the roofs of people´s houses.  some entire houses were blown away or collapsed.  It was really sad, last I heard was that 17 people died.  but im not sure, people are all saying different things. idk if you can get more reliable news up there.

Anyways, long story short, we made it back safe, also all the other missionaries in the mission.  but we were without light or water until yesterday.  which was definitely one of the harder things to do.  we only had about 5 liters of water.  fortunately the church has reserves of water.  It was hard, everything was hot, wet, and stinky.  I went about 4 days without showering, with 2 sets of clothes cuz everything else was dirty and wet.  we have light now and i´m finally clean, but there are still lots of people without light and water.  and things are starting to get bad in certain areas.  there is lots of rioting, because the people dont have food or water, 54 missionaries were evacuated.
so thats probably the most interesting thing that has happened to me this week...
the people are a lot less receptive than i thought, they are pretty angry at us, you´d think we were the ones that brought the storm... but we also found some good people and we were able to give away 2 BOMs this week.  the best tool we have in our conversions.
anyways, I have like no time to write today because we are super busy, but if you have any more questions fire away...

I love you, I´m glad you didnt die in the tornado!  i was worried...

on the lighter side of things, I found 3 puppies!  and a kid.
