hola hola

this week was good, some good stuff happened, but question... does anyone read my letters? and if you do, how come nobody answers them? haha but seriously, how'd everyone like conference? refer to my previous letter, Jake and Siera... what the heck? like i get that your both soooo super busy with like high school and stuff cuz your like both too cool for me now...... anyways i guess it'll be good to talk to you on christmas, i mean if you aren't too busy then either... haha jk but seriously por que no letters? also nobody has said anything about when i send a list of demands. sorry to do those to you but its mostly stuff i really need, like a carry on for the plane. I have no idea why i didnt bring one... dumb... but yeah i only have like 2 and a half weeks left here fyi so it'd be great to get all this stuff before we have to send it 2.7 million miles. thats assuming i get my visa, which i really hope comes, but there has been some bad luck lately, speaking of which, chris is gone :'( which really is a good thing but i miss him and it stinks having to say goodbye again. but i think it was only bad cuz we just weren't expecting it so suddenly, but we got to have this really awesome talk about our testimonies, the gospel, and just everything and then about 15 minutes later he got called down to the travel office, it was a total miracle for him, i cant explain it so hopefully he can and did in his letters, but it really was awesome. so anyways i knew he was leaving at around 5 AM the next morning and i heard something outside at about 5 so i woke up and poked my head out my door and there chris was, standing there writing me a little note. I gave him a big hug and we said our last goodbyes for 2. thinking back on it, i have no idea why i woke up, cuz noone else in my room did. just one of the little tender mercies the lord gave me to be able to see my friend one last time. It was great and i know hes going to be the best missionary in all south america. I miss him :( but at least we got some pictures of me, craig, and chris. :)

Oh yeah so whats the deal with rourke? There is a rumor going around that he's coming here now? I know the visas have been super backed up down there. whats goin on? let me know, so i can curb him :) oh yeah and in case anyone is wondering, the way it works is that they call people to be hosts usually on their last 2 weeks in the MTC. so hopefully i get to do that, and i'll see if i can for dave and josh tracy. they both report the next week right? sorry i forget.

So this week is getting crazy, because there are 3 residence buildings shut down for renovation or some crap like that but the mtc is at 104 capacity! this probably doesnt mean that much to you but its getting nuts crowded in here! they moved extra bunks into all of our rooms, which are already kinda crowded but its just rediculous now haha, it stinks but we are making the best of it. We made a man cave out of blankets, we hung them around two sets of bunk beds. its pretty awesome and we got a fridge, etc. it'd be a cool place to chill but we dont ever chill. sometimes at night we get a chance but now we are busy at night... Oh yeah i forgot haha Elder Buxton and I are the new Zone Leaders. So thats pretty cool and since i was DL before, im the oldest leader in the zone... which is unusual for how much time we have left so iim trying to be super good example kid, which is sometimes hard in the midst of a bunch of 19 year olds trying to have fun but im trying to shut them all up by 10:15. But its good, our first day as zone leaders, a girl in our zone had an anxiety attack, but it was nuts cuz she started just freakin out in class and so some elders put her in a chair and rolled her as fast as they could to the health center thingy. so they come in all freakin out and grab us, and we dont have any clue what to do and it was nuts. So we called the president and everything but yeah... it was more intense than it sounds... oh well. So yeah thats good, anyways president said that they were praying about new ZL's and stuff and had no doubt we were the new zone leaders, which made me feel good and makes me want to do better, i think thats the reason they put me in these positions, cuz it makes me have to do better haha.

Anyways, haven't heard anything from Bit, how's he doin? I was thinkin about him the other day, also just everyone from the ward, Heaps? Ive gotten a couple Dear Elders from Todd Skousen, so i sent a letter home with letters to him and to carson herbert, please deliver asap :) also let me know if you got them cuz i sent pics with them and hopefully it wasn't too much weight, but i put 2 stamps on it. Also i sent one to konnor, just to the address on the top of the dear elder, so hopefully its right. and if you read this k-hall, i love you :) also got a little letter from kevin :) also im so mad i havent seen joe, craig keeps rubbing it in that he's seen him. i love joe. (Joe reference ;) )

So i was also thinking about Mission Prep class and how much it helped me here. It really was such a big help, because it turns out i know all these skills that i didnt even think i knew! Just things that seem obvious in teaching, BRT, CER, people dont really know that here and they dont really teach it, they just kind of hint at it or something but it really helps in my lessons! Also just tons of stuff about dealing with companions and other problems in a kind loving way, it has already helped me in these leadership positions that i'm in. So thank you Brother Jones so much for that, i cant tell you how grateful i am. Also thanks a bunch for the cookies and sorry i haven't written a note back! Also tell all the priests and people in mission prep to take advantage of it and not to miss a single class cuz it helps so much and you'll be glad you did! also tell them to study more, more preach my gospel, and more of the scriptures (especially the Book of Mormon), its our main conversion tool and keystone of our religion. And you can't preach about something you know nothing about! I feel like i could've been more prepared, but im trying to catch up. Im reading the new testament, PMG, and lots of stuff but yeah so im issueing (spell check?) a challenge... All the priests to read Preach my Gospel or if you haven't read the Book of Mormon, read that. We can't afford to sit on the sidelines anymore, listen to Jeffrey R. Holland's priesthood session talk, we have to get in the game! (dad you should totally watch that talk in priest quorum, its so powerful and intense and perfect for what those guys need i think. I also watched a clip on LDS site called sanctify yourselves, it brought a tear to my eyes, my comp knows the guy in it. Watch that one too. :)

So anyways, something kinda cool, i started talking to this elderly gentleman and his wife this week, turns out he is the old mission president of Neuquen mission. he was gone before Jared got there though, he was 2002-2004 i think. anyways he said he knew grandpa and grew up by him and went to the same school as him. His name is George Stewart and he thinks he was a year younger than grandpa in school. So it was kinda cool cuz we had lots to talk about. Anyways ask grandpa if he knows him. Also tell grandpa hi and that i love him. Mary too :) Any updates there? let me know.

So anyways thats all thats new for me. Let me know if you have questions and i'll prolly check email again in the afternoon. love you all and miss you! write me :)

Love, Elder Skousen
