Alrighty so this week was pretty awesome. How'd
you all like conference? me gusta conference. Ive never sat and watched every
session and stayed awake like that. I only fell asleep for like 2 talks the
whole conference! impressive i know. I just decided that if you have the means,
watching conference is probably the best way you could spend 2 saturdays a year
doing. even though i had to go to the mtc to figure that one out... Soooo
favorite talks? how about Jeffrey R Holland during priesthood? When are mom and
dad's mission papers going in? haha that was pretty intense right?
Jake/everyone if you didn't see it watch it... actually watch it again anyways
even if you did. right now. its awesome i watched it again and got even more
out of it. Best line ever was "In this family, We serve missions" (im
pretty sure thats what he said) sooooo good. I also really liked President
Uchtdorf's on Saturday. He is awesome. Mom, Dad, and Grandma did you all get a
chance to watch David A Bednar on Saturday? it was an awesome talk about family
history, and i immediately thought about grandma and how much time she has
devoted to family history. Joseph Smith said "our greatest responsibility is to seek out the dead" (again not exact, just whats in my notes) but yeah
so i was thinking that for family night, you should all go do a family history
thing and get some names that you can all go to the temple and do later that
week. I think that would really bring the family closer together and maybe even
be a little fun. It could also be a GREAT young mens activity Dad. Just a
thought, maybe once a month, the fam and or young mens/ young women, could go
do fam history and/or temple.
Ian S Ardern on Saturday talked about using our time
unwisely, and how it is a close cousin to idleness. theres no substitute for
good friends, and that time is priceless, no amount of money can buy more of
it. so use it wisely. There was an angry birds reference in there somewhere
too. but it feels good to know that this is the best thing i can be doing with
my time, serving the Lord.
Alright im almost done but dad/ Siera /everyone should watch
Elain S Dalton from Sunday Morning. It just talked about how the most important
thing a father can do for his daughter is love her mother. Find time to spend
with your daughters, and going to the temple is important. ONe thing she said
was if she is out too late on a date or something, GO GET HER! haha its funny
but true, i cant explain good, but watch it. also she said that Modesty is a
"Protection". I like those choice of words. So Siera and Dad Watch
that talk.
So yeah I of course loved hearing from the prophet on
several occasions. how about the new temples? Everyone here was freaking out
about the new provo temple. it is pretty cool though.
After conference we had a fireside from chad lewis, ex
football player for the eagles i think. it was pretty awesome. it got me jazzed
to get out there and work my hardest.
So in other news I obtained a loufa and my showers are much
more enjoyable. Also I'm getting fat. I broke 150... so for all the ladies
waiting and planning on me still having that amazing body, sorry to dissapoint
but you might want to consider finding an alternative option in case i dont
drop some of this poundage. On the bright side, for some reason i started
growing facial hair like mad as soon as i got here. unfortunately its not
allowed... oh well...
Tell shawn happy birthday and that i love him so much and to go ski all that pow we got yesterday for me. jk i know theres no pow... Jared I was thinking that you should build a big kicker off the big
Y on the mountain and i'll watch from my window. haha but seriously, first snow
ever yesterday! It was awesome! Everyone else hates it for some reason
though... but I love it. Rule # 32 around here: Enjoy the simple things.
In other news, Mi companero hurt his ankle yesterday cuz he
isn't speedy down the stairs... he tried to be fast like me... also every time
we go up the 5 flights of stairs to our classroom we do calf raises on each one
so by the end of the mtc i'll be jumpin out of the gym.
Also i've been looking for Joe everywhere but i cannot find
him and its really starting to annoy. I saw his car and wrote on the window
while going out to the field. what building does he work in? I do enjoy his
letters, tell him that for me. actually i'll probably write him today. but its
hard cuz im way behind on my letter writing, so no offense to those who haven't
recieved letters yet. I still love you.
oh yeah, there is an elder here that looks like Dilbert. its
funny.
so thats pretty much it for me... I do want to hear about
whats going on out there and also i like hearing about the fun stuff people are
doing, it doesnt make me homesick it helps, so tell me stuff. I need info! also
i really like getting pictures, send more pictures :) of anything.
In other news, i am no longer short.... actually i still am
but its ok.
if theres anything you want to know about my life, let me
know... if not tell me everything about yours.
i like letters... and packages.
Anyways i love you all.
byeeeeeee
