hey so i don't have tons of time this week to write, but i´ll do my best, first off, this week had a few disappointments. first, on wednesday we usually have futbol night.  and we get together and its a really good chance for investigators and inactive people to get together and play some ball.  unfortunately the guy who was supposed to bring the ball, didn't show... so we had some other non member guys show up and we had to turn them away.  It was the Worst!!!!! Ugh i feel like 4 potentially new investigators just walked right out the door. then the next night was our first family home evening with the ward and branch at the church.  OH WAIT... no it wasn't... nobody showed up... i mean nobody, not the bishop, branch president, nobody.  we had spent lots of time prepping the lesson and buying refreshments and stuff but yeah... so that sucked.  anyways in district meeting we had the goal to get 80% on our key indicators this week, which is the standard of excellence, the goal was to have all of our lessons and contacts and everything done by friday night so that we could focus all day saturday on getting people to church the next day.  I thought it went well and we had several people committed to coming to church on Sunday, much to my surprise, not one of them showed up... not one... our best investigator im afraid is really hard to find right now because her cousins husband died and we dont have a cell phone so its hard to stay in contact.  I really hope that we dont lose her.  Anyways, some good stuff happened this week too, on saturday we went to the hospital to do a little service, we made balloon animals for the kids, (oh yeah, i make balloon animals now, its one of the many peculiar talents my companion possesses) and had a good time talking to people and giving them balloons, I can make a dog, a giraffe and a bunny :D  there was a member lady there with her infant boy who was sick and we gave him a blessing, first time ive done that in castellano.  actually now that i think about it, first time ever... so that's cool. I did the anointing, but then sunday i gave a blessing to a girl in the branch.  Its kinda hard to just go by the spirit in castellano.  it went well though.  Also I´ve had several compliments on my castellano this week.  I can kindof talk and like have conversations with people and stuff.  so that's cool yeah?

Anyways, this week i´m really grateful for the book of Mormon and the strength that it gives me.  It really does have all the answers and is the keystone of our religion.

I´m sorry my letter stinks once again.  next week hopefully will be better and i´ll have better news for you all.  the goal is to have one baptism this month.  we are fasting and praying for that.

I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week.

Elder Skousen
