Hey family,
so i got transfered to a little ward called Loma Grande. its only a couple miles from my first area and only about 15 from my last area. so yeah, thats just kinda how it is in buenos aires oeste. My area isn´t quite as nice as Ituzaingo... there are about 2 or 3 paved roads, and the people are a lot more humble. But the area is awesome, I feel like i left the country, because people actually give us the time of day! its awesome!!! I think we are going to have a lot of success here. I know i always say that but this time i feel even better!
My comp´s name is elder Alvarez. He is from Santa Fe, Argentina. we have the same time in the mission, (actually i started one day before him haha) He is a bit timid, and can´t explain himself really well sometimes, but he´s got an aura of humility about him that others can sense. He has a strong testimony and everyone can feel it. Its pretty great, I´m sure that we are going to learn a lot from each other.
The ward is pretty good, we have 2 ward missionaries ( first time i´ve had ward missionaries...) that are awesome. they are 2 girls about 27-30 years old that love missionary work. they help us a lot. the rest of the ward im not so sure aabout. we had ward counsel thursday and it was a mess. I seriously felt like the only responsible adult there... everyone was just arguing, and it was just a mess. This ward needs some help haha. The biggest problems right now is the cold. A lot of people can´t afford warm clothing, not to mention heaters. the houses are literally more cold inside than outside sometimes. people burning whatever they can inside the house to stay warm. An old lady in the neighborhood died and they gave us her clothes to distribute to the people who needed it most. I am in my shirt, sweater, coat, and beanie, and i am freezing my buns off. Then i see these little kids with nothing but a light jacket, cuz thats all they have... But then they are sohappy when we come to talk to them about the gospel. They bring out their little bench and all pile on that to listen to us. Its probably the most adorable and pitiful things i´ve seen in my life. We all need to be a little bit more like these little children, humble, meek, submissive to the will of the father. He promises us blessings if we have these things.
Anyways, I hope you all can count the many blessings that you have this week! It's one thing to visit places like this and see, another thing to live it. its tough to imagine. i´m thankful for my many blessings.
It´s kinda funny how just a second ago i was whining about how hot it is. I´m still in debate about which is worse... probably the heat.
