Hey Famila,

whats up, so this week was ok, we still cant get jack with lessons with member, we are supposed to have 15, and we havent gotten it once since i got here.  we just lack people to teach, so this week we are going to really focus on finding people, I think that a big part of it might be me, I think that i need to start testifying more, our job is to make the people feel the spirit, so this week i am really going to try to improve my teaching.  anyways to answer questions, my comp is ok, he is a portly white fellow from california that doesn't really like Utah Mormons... which is ironic but pretty common... anyways he has about 3 weeks left on the mission, so ya fue el... also his Spanish isn´t really all that great for someone who has been on a mission for 2 years.  anyways, he´s a good kid and we are getting along.  In other news, we found an unusually large cockroach in our pench this week... we named him daniel but we killed him cuz he was really gross.  Also it is hotter that the telestial kingdom down here... everyone says this is the hottest they´ve ever been in, the news is warning people to stay inside and everything.  This is causing lots of blackouts, they cut the power and at night, you wouldnt believe how impossible it is to sleep in a 2385 degree pench without a fan.  so when that happens im up until about 2 or 3 and if the power comes back on we can sleep with the fan.  also i found out why all the dogs hate us... its in the bible, Philippians 3:2 (look it up)

Also this week, a family with a mentally handicapped son of about 24 years old went on vacation camping so they left the son with their neighbors.  but one night he escaped and so we spent a few hours looking for him, it was really intense, but eventually we had to go back to the pench cuz it was late but later that night the police found him.  he had followed a dog onto a collectivo and then he wouldn't get off so the police found him...

I also got the worst haircut i´ve ever had in my life, I cant believe I payed 30 pesos for it... like seriously, i could have done better myself with a butter knife... but it i fixed it and made it kinda look like a missionary cut...

Also the stake got together and had a temple trip to Uruguay.  A lady in our ward named ana whose son died when he was about 15, he got hit by bus i think, anyways she got to go for the first time, take out her endowments and did baptism for her son.  It was really cool to see how happy she was and the peace that it brought her.  I also realized what a blessing it is that we have our families and the knowledge that we can be with them together forever.

I also want to give a shout out to grandma Sylvia because she writes me pretty much every week!  I am also working on gettin a letter written back to grandma Ilabell.  she sent me a dear elder.  so just so everyon knows, i do read your letters, they do help and i love them and i love you.

alright so that's all for this week
have a good week everyone

Elder Skousen
